Have you ever cut an onion and realized that you don’t need the whole thing?

 

I think we all have.
 

But what do with the part you don’t need?
 

Do you throw it away? Or do you wrap it, put it in the fridge and hope it doesn’t make a big stink?

Well you don’t have to do either of these things.

Instead, follow these 3 simple steps:

​

  • Cut up the rest of the onion.

  • Place the cut pieces into a plastic bag.

  • Place the bag in the freezer.

The onion pieces will freeze quickly, so they won’t make a bad smell.

​

And the next time you need some onion for cooking, just take the bag out of the freezer and use the amount of cut onion you need.

Easy.
